I'm a software developer with 8+ years of professional experience building, maintaining and extending production web applications.

Most of that experience has been in ecommerce and Shopify, working on software used by real merchants every day. That has meant everything from application development and platform integrations to debugging production problems, adapting to API changes and building custom functionality around requirements that don't fit neatly into an existing product.

Production software, not just new builds

A large part of my experience comes from working on the same production systems over many years.

That changes how I approach development. Building the first version is only part of the job. Software has to survive changing requirements, platform updates, unexpected edge cases and decisions made years earlier.

I'm comfortable stepping into existing systems, understanding how they work, finding the actual problem and making changes without unnecessarily rebuilding everything around them.

Direct access to the developer doing the work

I work independently, so there isn't an account manager or sales layer between the conversation and the implementation.

For businesses, that means discussing the requirement directly with the person building it. For agencies, I can work behind the scenes as additional technical capacity, alongside an existing team or directly with the client where appropriate.

The aim is straightforward: understand the requirement, work within what's already there where it makes sense, and build the simplest reliable solution to the actual problem.
